What Is NACLO?
NACLO (North American Computational Linguistics Open Competition) is a prestigious annual contest where middle and high school students solve fascinating linguistic puzzles. It introduces students to the beauty and structure of languages while sharpening logical reasoning and analytical skills — no prior experience in linguistics or foreign languages is required.
Each January, thousands of students across the U.S. and Canada participate in the Open Round. Top scorers advance to the Invitational Round in March, and the highest achievers represent their countries at the International Linguistics Olympiad (IOL) in the summer.
Why Compete at 7EDU Global Academy?
7EDU Global Academy is honored to serve as the only public NACLO competition site in the Bay Area, welcoming participants from across Northern California. Over the years, our Cupertino campus has become a training ground for some of the most talented young linguists — and every year, several students from our Open Round site have successfully advanced to the Invitational Round thanks to their remarkable performance.
