In this literature course, students will read and analyze a classic text, read and taught in most high school English courses. In addition to practicing literary analysis, students will be asked to draw inferences and provide textual evidence to support claims. While reading, students will be expected to write analytical paragraphs to process the reading as well as synthesize different textual details to draw major conclusions about the historical role, cultural impact or relevancy, and writing style of the classic text. The overall goal is for students to read a classic text with new or different questions in mind than the questions and thoughts found outlined online.
