Turn coding skills into a meaningful, competition-ready project! In this 18-session live online program, students learn practical web development and receive step-by-step mentoring to create an original app for the Congressional App Challenge—a national competition hosted by members of the U.S. House of Representatives.

Program Highlights

Stage 1: Web App Development & Design — 12 Classes
Students learn HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and React while using Figma and Stitch to design polished, user-friendly interfaces.
Stage 2: Congressional App Challenge Mentoring — 6 Classes
Each student creates an original app addressing a real-world or community problem. The instructor provides guidance from idea selection and development through troubleshooting, design improvement, and submission preparation.
By the end of the program, students will have practical development experience and a completed or near-completed app—an impressive portfolio project with competition and community-impact potential.

Prerequisite: Familiarity with Python or another text-based programming language; no previous HTML, CSS, or JavaScript experience required
